  • Welcome :
The APCTP Workshop on Multiferroics has become an important venue to discuss recent scientific progresses and emerging trends in the field. The goal of the 10th anniversary workshop is to serve as a bridge between various fields such as magnetism, ferroelectrics, spintronics, ionics, topological structures, correlated and spin-orbit coupled systems. This workshop will also serve as a catalyst for finding new directions that go beyond the traditional magnetoelectric coupling in multiferroics with active scientists in each field. The topics to discuss include but are not limited to the followings.

    - Magnetism, ferroelectrics, spintronics
    - Topological structures and dynamics in ferrous materials (vortices, skymions, merons, textures)
    - Topological phases and transitions
    - Polar metal, inversion symmetry breaking, spin-orbit coupled systems
    - Materials design and characterization for novel inter-coupled phenomena
    - Domains and domain walls
    - Nanoelectronics and nanoionics
    - Strain gradient induced phenomena : flexoelectricity and flexomagnetism

This workshop will provide an excellent platform for promoting friendship by sharing common/mutual scientific interests and building collaborative networks. We look forward to seeing you at KAIST in November 2018.

    Yours Sincerely,
(On behalf of the Organizing Committee)
    Chan-Ho Yang

    Previous Workshops :

The “Workshop on Multiferroics”, started at the Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics (APCTP) in Korea in 2008 based on the founder contribution of Prof. Yoon Hee Jeong (POSTECH), Prof. Sang-Wook Cheong (Rutgers), and Prof. Daniel Khomskii (Köln), and has continued as an annual event for the last ten years, growing steadily over the years in terms of both participation and its international impact and visibility.
